Cards against cancer –
supporting Cancer Research UK

Buying Christmas cards may not seem the most obvious way to help Cancer Research UK, but by purchasing your corporate cards from this brochure you really can help to make a difference. The proceeds from each sale will go towards our life-saving work.

About Cancer
Cancer affects more than one in three people in the UK at some point in their lives. It may well have affected you, either directly or indirectly. If you have been touched by the disease, then you will be aware of the impact it can have on the sufferer and their immediate family.

About Cancer Research UK...
We fund over 3,000 scientists, doctors and nurses based in hospitals, institutes and universities around the UK – 90% of the population lives within a 30 miles radius of a Cancer Research UK funded site.

...and how you can help
Our annual scientific spend is more than £250 million. We rely almost entirely on the generosity of the public and companies such as your own, to help raise the funds that ultimately translate into live-saving advances.

Companies against
cancer

Raising funds is a year round activity, and our fundraising programme includes family events such as bike rides, walks and runs that take place during the Summer and Autumn. Whether your company joins in because of personal motivation or as a corporate team-building exercise, everyone benefits. If your company enters one of these events then our dedicated fundraisers will help every step of the way!

Payroll giving
Not only is this completely tax-free, you don’t have to get physical either! A donation of £10 actually only costs the donor £7.80, and the Treasury contributes the balance. Payroll giving is cost-effective and important.

Cause-related marketing
and event sponsorship

There are few companies that will not benefit from an association with Cancer Research UK. For more information about how your company can get involved in employee fundraising, events, sponsorship or cause related marketing opportunities, please visit our website – www.cancerresearchuk.org or email us at corp@cancer.org.uk and a member of our corporate team will be in touch.

Take time to help cancer
research

Time really is money. A few hours of your time can make a real difference. Whether it is helping at one of our events, organising your own fundraiser, assisting in one of our 575 shops, or promoting the work and aims of Cancer Research UK – each is a real and tangible way of helping our research.

Dear Supporter,

I am delighted that you have chosen to look at the new range of Cancer Research UK personalised
Christmas cards displayed inside
this brochure.

As the world's leading volunteer supported organisation dedicated to cancer research, we support a broad spectrum of research work. This ranges from understanding the causes and basic biology of cancer, to finding new and more effective ways to prevent, diagnose, treat and cure the disease. We are almost entirely dependent on the generosity of the public to continue this vital research.

In the past year our income has again increased, allowing us to continue to make tremendous progress in the fight against cancer. This is in no small part, thanks to those of you who kindly chose your corporate Christmas cards from last year’s brochure. The more money we receive, the greater our investment in curing cancer through world-class research.

I believe that if a Christmas card says a lot about a person, then the choice of corporate Christmas card similarly reflects on a company. I hope you enjoy choosing your corporate Christmas card from the large and impressive selection offered in these pages.

Thank you for your interest in Cancer Research UK, and my best wishes to you for a very Happy Christmas.
